Compact Seminar on Faust, Sept 8-29
September 1, 2006
This semester’s German 204 compact seminar will be “Faust.” Distinguished Professor Emeritus Wilhelm Vosskamp (University of Cologne) will teach the seminar for four weeks in September 2006.
The seminar will inaugurate the Compact Seminar in German Studies funded by the Max Kade Foundation New York.
One short paper is required. Note: This course only meets for one month, once a week, and on the following Fridays only: 9/15, 9/22, 9/29, 10/6, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in 282 Dwinelle Hall.
The seminar is listed in the schedule of courses as CC# 37588: German 204 section 001: 2 Units “Faust.”

Dutch Lecturer Position Open

February 17, 2005 – March 31, 2005 Pending budgetary resources, the Department of German has a one-year opening for a Lecturer in Dutch, 67% time, effective 1 July 2005, with the possibilility of renewal. The Lecturer will teach courses in elementary, intermediate and advanced Dutch (Dutch 1, 2, 110) as well as conversation and composition (Dutch 125). Minimum qualifications: MA, native or near-native ability in Dutch, proven teaching experience at the college level. Minimum annual full-time salary rate is $37,572; salary commensurate with education and experience.
