  • First Berkeley Prize Winner Announced

    May 15, 2014

Our departmental awards committee has selected the essay “Representations of the Staatssicherheitsdienst in Christa Wolf’s Was bleibt, Antje Ravic Strubel’s Sturz der Tage in die Nacht, and Hermann Kant’s Kennung” as the winner of this year’s Berkeley Prize for Undergraduate Essays in German Studies.
We congratulate the author, Emily C. Bell from Wellesley College, on this wonderful success!
Bell will be awarded $500, and her essay will be considered for publication in our electronic journal TRANSIT.
The essay submissions provided us with a good cross-section of undergraduate research in the field.
