Kenneson A. Z. Chen is a graduate student in German Literature. He received his B.A. in Latin, German, and Ancient Greek from Swarthmore College in 2014. Kenneson began learning German at the Middlebury German School in 2011. After spending a year in Linz, Austria as an English teaching assistant through the Austrian-American Educational Commission, he comes to Berkeley ready to pursue and develop his interests in the reception of the Classics in German literature, the Grimm fairy tales, immigrant/minority literature (specifically German-Turkish literature), and questions of German and Austrian identity. When he is not rummaging through old books and trying his hand at Sütterlinschrift, Kenneson likes to grow orchids and host dinner parties.
