Kevin A. Gordon is a doctoral candidate in German Literature and Medieval Studies. He is currently at work on his dissertation titled, “The Desert and Memory in German Literature and Thought.” Most recently, he has presented papers at UC Berkeley’s German Department Graduate Student Conference and the International Congress on Medieval Studies. In December 2012, his article, “Historical Rupture and the Devastation of Memory in Adalbert Stifter’s ‘Der Hagestolz,’” will appear in the Journal of Austrian Studies, Vol. 45 no. 3-4.
